In the air there's a feeling of Christmas. Children laughing, people passing, meeting smile after smile, And on ev'ry street corner you hear: CHORUS: Silver bells, silver bells, It's Christmas time in the city. Ring-a-ling, hear them ring, Soon it will be Christmas day. Strings of street lights, even stoplights, blink a bright red and green As the shoppers rush home with their treasures. Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch, this is Santa's big scene, And above all this bustle you hear: REPEAT CHORUS |
JINGLE BELLS Dashing through the snow In a one-horse open sleigh, o'er the fields we go, Laughing all the way; Bells on bobtail ring, Making spirits bright; What fun it is to ride and sing, A sleighing song tonight! CHORUS: Jingle Bells! Jingle Bells! Jingle all the way! Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one-horse open sleigh! Day or two ago I thought I'd take a ride, And soon Miss Fannie Bright Was seated by my side. he horse was lean and lank, Misfortune seem'd his lot, He got into a drifted bank, And we, we got upsot: REPEAT CHORUS Now the ground is white, Go it while you're young; Take the girls tonight, And sing this sleighing song; Just get a bobtailed nag, Two forty for his speed, Then hitch him to an open sleigh, And crack! you'll take the lead. REPEAT CHORUS | ERE WE COME A-CAROLING Here we come a-caroling Among the leaves so green; Here we come a-wand'ring, So fair to be seen: CHORUS: Love and joy come to you, And to you glad Christmas too; And God bless you and send you a happy New Year, And Good send you a happy New Year. We are not daily beggars That beg from door to door; But we are neighbors Whom you have seen before: REPEAT CHORUS Good master and mistress, As you sit by the fire, Pray think of us poor children, Who wander in the mire: REPEAT CHORUS God bless the master of this house, Likewise the mistress, too, And all the little children, That round the table go: REPEAT CHORUS |
SILENT NIGHT Silent night! Holy night! All is calm, all is bright, Round yon Virgin Mother and Child. Holy Infant, so tender and mild. Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace. Silent night! Holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight; Glories stream from heaven afar, Heav'nly host sing, Alleluia, Christ, the Savior is born! Christ the Savior is born! Silent night! Holy night! Son of God, love's pure light, Radiant beams from Thy holy face, With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth, Jesus, Lord at Thy birth. | UP ON THE HOUSE TOP Up on the house-top reindeer pause, Out jumps good old Santa Claus; Down through the chimney with lots of toys, All for the little ones, Christmas joys. Ho, ho, ho! who wouldn't go! Ho, ho, ho! who wouldn't go! Up on the house-top click, click, click, Down through the chimney with old Saint Nick. |
Away in a manger Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head; The stars in the sky looked down where He lay, The little Lord Jesus, asleep in the hay. Away in manger, no crib for a bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head; The stars in the sky looked down where He lay, The little Lord Jesus, asleep in the hay. The cattle are lowing, the poor baby wakes, But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes.; I love Thee Lord Jesus, look down from the sky, And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh. A hay. The little Lord Jesus. asleep on the Hay. By Martin Luther | It Came Upon A Midnight Clear It came upon the midnight clear, That glorious song of old, From angels bending near the earth, To touch their harps of gold: "Peace on the earth, goodwill to men From heavens all gracious King!" The world in solemn stillness lay To hear the angels sing. Still through the cloven skies they come, With peaceful wings unfurled; And still their heavenly music floats O'er all the weary world: Above its sad and lowly plains They bend on hovering wing, And ever o'er its Babel sounds The blessed angels sing. O ye beneath life's crushing load, Whose forms are bending low, Who toil along the climbing way With painful steps and slow; Look now, for glad and golden hours Come swiftly on the wing; Oh rest beside the weary road And hear the angels sing. For lo! the days are hastening on, By prophets seen of old, When with the ever-circling years Shall come the time foretold, When the new heaven and earth shall own The Prince of Peace, their King, And the whole world send back the song Which now the angels sing. By Edmund Hamilton Sears. |
Irish Carol Christmas day is come; let's all prepare for mirth, Which fills the heavens and earth at this amazing birth. Through both the joyous angels in strife and hurry fly, with glory and hosannas, "All holy" do they cry, In heaven the Church triumphant adores with all her choirs, The militant on earth with humble faith admires. But why should we rejoice? Should we not rather mourn To see the hope of nations thus in a stable born? Where are his crown and scepter, where is his throne sublime, Where is the train majestic that should the stars outshine? There no sumptuous palace nor any inn at all To lodge his heavenly mother but in a filthy stall? ![]() | The Christmas Waltz Frosted window panes Candles gleaming inside Painted canny canes on the the tree Santa's on his way, He's filled his slay With things, things for you and for me It's the time of year When the world falls in love Every song you hear Seems to say Merry Christmas May your new year dreams come true And this song of mine In three quarter time Wishes you and yours The same thing too Merry Christmas May your new year dreams come true And this song of mine In three quarter time Wishes you and yours The same thing too Merry Christmas to you |
